Astronomy Night in Paralia Dionisiou Beach

The 9^th of august was no usual night like all the others, the reason for this was that students from the University of Thessaloniki organized another astronomy night. The event was organized again for another year, where many guests and locals gathered to see and view from the powerful telescopes the stars and the clear night sky.  This event was organized in the center square of Paralia Dionisiou Beach where all the visitors gathered and enjoyed  this unusual event with music from out of space.

This event was very impressive by it’s high organization and professionalism. All the visitors had the opportunity to listen and view scientific information about astronomy with a presentation on the large screen which was placed on the beach in the center of Paralia Dionisiou Beach.  There were 3 large professional and powerful telescopes though which people had the opportunity to observe the sky with the help of student astronomers. There also was information stands with material and pictures about the universe, planets and stars..

The astronomy night which was held for the 8th summer caused a great interest amongst visitors. We hope and believe that  this interesting and informative tradition will continue for the following years also and will entertain the guests of our apartments in Paralia Dionisiou Beach and Nea Moudania.
