25 of March – Independence day of Greece

Every year on the 25th of March we honour and celebrate the uprising of the enslaved Greeks against the Turkish tyrant.

This day is considered to be the most important date on the history of Modern Greece. Ever since 1838, the 25th of March has been established as the celebration day of the revoloution of 1821. On that day, every part of Greece is celebrating and the traditions vary from place to place. School parades not only in Greece, but Cyprus also, take place every year.
